Prenatal Doula (Personalized Childbirth Education)
You may notice from my blog that I love to research and to share information. This is one of the reasons why I have decided to offer services as a prenatal doula or personal childbirth educator.
Some couples would like the support of a doula during pregnancy, but would like to keep the birth of their child as private as possible.
I understand this! I believe that you can still have an awesome birth and happy baby, especially if you know all of your options and are familiar with the birth process, coping techniques, and policies surrounding the place of birth that you are choosing. That is why I am now offering a Prenatal Only doula package, which is similar to a childbirth education course, but more personalized.
As your prenatal doula, I will meet you at your home or other place of your choosing and discuss your plans and preferences for your birth, assist in writing a birth plan, and share evidence-based material regarding interventions that may be suggested during the birth process, so that you can be fully prepared to make informed decisions during your labor and birth. Sometimes the experiences of family members or your own past births may create concerns that carry over to your current pregnancy and birth, and these experiences can be discussed during prenatal meetings.
The Prenatal doula package includes:
Four personal education sessions at your home or other location of your choosing
Assistance in composing your birth preferences, including customized icon birth plan from The Birth Plan Co.
Unlimited phone and email support up to your birth, and for 2 weeks afterwards.
If you decide later that you would like to add on the services of a birth doula, I will try my best to accommodate that as long as I have space available on my call schedule. You would simply pay the difference between the prenatal package and the birth doula package of your choosing.
